Herb May has over 30 years of financial industry experience across the capital markets. At DH Capital, Herb focuses his time on business development and sponsor coverage. Prior to joining DH Capital, Herb headed Equity Capital Markets at Signal Hill Capital in Baltimore, Md. He also played a central role in the firm’s sponsor coverage effort, leveraging his extensive relationships with leading private equity and venture capital firms. Before joining Signal Hill in 2006, Herb worked as a senior member of the Wachovia Securities Equity Capital Markets team. He served on the Equity Management Committee, and focused his time on the strategic direction of the overall equity business including recruiting, institutional and corporate client development, relationship management, and deal origination and execution.

Herb began his career at Alex. Brown & Sons in 1987 as an Equity Sales Trader in New York, a group that he would run from 1995 through 2000, when he joined the Global Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank Alex Brown as Head of Equity Syndicate. Herb also served on DB’s North American Equity Management Committee.

Herb is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the Salisbury School where he remains a Trustee Emeritus. Herb also serves as a Director of the One Love Foundation, a national organization whose mission is to end relationship abuse by educating young people about healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors and empowering them to be leaders driving change in their communities.
